Crew and Pacing

The loneliness of the long distance runner is never more apparent than when I am out on long training runs, doing it tough. Although it never takes long to remember why I am doing it, and that I enjoy the solitude and that feeling of achieving a certain goal on my own, whether it be an epic long training run, or a race.

Ultra Viral

While I still keep a copy of Tim Noakes' Lore of Running on my bedside table, I find that more and more of my research and inspiration for ultra-running comes from the internet (and ideas for insane races to add to my bucket list): websites, blogs, podcasts, portals and resources.

Long training run report.

I've been a bit preoccupied lately, and this month's edition of Open Source Athlete suddenly crept up on me.

So without giving too much thought to a specific topic, I thought I would recap on my long run yesterday. So far it has been the longest run I have done in training, with one more significantly longer run on the cards happening in a few weeks.
